Last Seen (2018–2021): A conversation about the architecture of violence between Hrair Sarkissian and Eyal Weizman

Hrair Sarkissian’s art addresses issues of disappearances and the architecture of violence. In connection with his major solo exhibition The Other Side of Silence, Bonniers Konsthall has invited Professor Eyal Weizman from Goldsmiths, University of London to a discussion with the artist. Weizman is the founder of Forensic Architecture, a multidisciplinary research group that uses architectonic techniques to examine cases of state violence and violations of human rights. This evening, Sarkissian will discuss his recent work Last Seen with Eyal Weizman. The work examines testimonies concerning people who have disappeared under unclear circumstances in periods of turbulence and conflict.

Eyal Weizman is a professor of spatial and visual cultures and founder of the Centre for Research Architecture at Goldsmiths, University of London. In 2010, he set up the interdisciplinary research group Forensic Architecture, of which he is the director.
