Artist Sharon Lockhart first met Milena in 2009. Their ongoing relationship over the following six years gave rise to a trilogy of exhibitions titled Milena, Milena. In the exhibitions, as in this volume, newer works were framed by earlier biographical ones, creating a dialogue between past and present. The book is not conceived as an archive of those exhibitions but rather as its own articulation of the same work, which is still in progress.
