We have all become more and more interested in involving children in the arts, for example in the visual arts, theatre and television. What exactly does participation signify for the artist in relation to young artists? Is the art we encounter the children’s own tales or rather adult interpretations of childhood? This evening embarks from Sharon Lockhart’s art and working methods, which quite often involve the people she portrays – often children.
Suzanne Osten, dramatist and director, and Catharina Hällström, researcher in children’s art, contribute to this evening’s event. Bonniers Konsthall curator Camilla Larsson introduces the evening with a presentation of Sharon Lockhart’s work.
