With the help of previously unpublished letters, photographs, reviews, and private view cards, the book offers a fascinating insight into Gerard Bonnier\u2019s life with art and his close friendships with artists and museum professionals. The material\u2014reproduced in facsimile, creating a vivid sense of the time and context\u2014also reflects the strong ties between literature and the visual arts that characterize the publishing house.<\/p>\n
The book\u2019s main chapter is a documentation of the art collection that Gerard Bonnier placed in the offices of Albert Bonniers F\u00f6rlag on Sveav\u00e4gen. The newly taken photographs show how naturally art is integrated into the publishing house, while also highlighting some of the finest works produced in Swedish postwar art.<\/p>\n
The book includes texts by, among others, Ulf Linde and Nina \u00d6hman, and the material has been compiled by Dr. Niclas \u00d6stlind. He is a senior lecturer at Akademin Valand, a writer, and a curator, and served as editor-in-chief for Collected Works! 30 Years with the Maria Bonnier Dahlin Foundation<\/em> (2016).
