Bonniers Konsthall in collaboration with the Institute for Advanced Studies in Political Aesthetics (IAS) present a series of lectures and discussions in preparation of the exhibition The Defeated: The Aesthetics of Resistance 2026<\/em>, which opens at Bonniers Konsthall on August 26 and continues until November 8, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Defeated<\/em>\u00a0is based on the Swedish-German author Peter Weiss\u2019s antifascist novel\u00a0The Aesthetics of Resistance<\/em>\u00a0(1975\u201381). What can an aesthetics of resistance be today, in relation to the rising fascisms, the devastations, and the inequalities of our time? What challenges does\u00a0The Aesthetics of Resistance<\/em>\u00a0pose to the present, and in what ways can artworks and cultural forms \u2013 such as an exhibition \u2013 attempt to respond to them?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants:<\/strong>\u00a0Saga G\u00e4rde (Director, Stockholm), Anna Hallberg (Poet and critic, Stockholm) and Stefan Jonsson (Professor, Link\u00f6ping University).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program runs for two hours, including an interval.
