Bonniers Konsthall in collaboration with the Institute for Advanced Studies in Political Aesthetics (IAS) present a series of lectures and discussions in preparation of the exhibition\u00a0The Defeated: The Aesthetics of Resistance 2026<\/em>, which opens at Bonniers Konsthall on August 26 and continues until November 8, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In\u00a0The Aesthetics of Resistance<\/em>, the antifascist struggle is closely related to the question of the school. It is through a critical appropriation of cultural forms \u2013 an aesthetic education, a popular education, a workers\u2019 education \u2013 that the novel\u2019s protagonists can understand themselves as the members of a\u00a0we<\/em>\u00a0united in resistance. How should we understand that connection today, in relation to the ongoing destruction of the infrastructures of popular education, and the dismantlement of the critical human sciences, in Sweden and internationally?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants:<\/strong>\u00a0Majsa Allelin (Senior Lecturer, S\u00f6dert\u00f6rn University), Ane Hjort Guttu (Artist, Oslo) and Gustav Strandberg (forskare S\u00f6dert\u00f6rns H\u00f6gskola och IAS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
