Performance, Drottningholms Slottsteater<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

At Drottningholms Slottsteater, Ylva Ogland creates a ritual centred on a mirror image of the memory of the birth of her two daughters.<\/p>\n

The strong connection between She in Four Acts\u00a0<\/i>and baroque theatre becomes clear when she uses the theatrical stage as a kind of artist\u2019s studio, where the works painted during the exhibition at Bonniers Konsthall are now completed.<\/p>\n

Ylva Ogland performs the ritual A Reflection of the Combined Memory of the Births of Sibylla and Xenia<\/em>. This performance is a continuation of a ritual Ogland performed in March this year at Drottningholms Slottsteater, as a prologue to the exhibition.<\/p>\n

The night is a collaboration with Drottningholms Slottsteater.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Drottningholms Slottsteater was built in 1766 at the request of Queen Lovisa Ulrika. The unique auditorium is playfully decorated using paint, stucco, and papier m\u00e2ch\u00e9 and the wooden stage machinery is operated by hand. It includes wind, thunder and cloud machines, as well as traps and moving waves. About 30 stage sets have been preserved, all decorated with themes from 18th century repertoire.<\/em><\/p>\n

In 1991 the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO designated the theatre, together with Drottningholm Palace, the Chinese Pavilion and the surrounding park, as being of international cultural heritage significance.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
