Meriç Algün (b. 1983, Istanbul, Turkey) lives and works in Stockholm. Her artistic practice is often based on thorough and careful research on topics such as identity, love, bureaucracy, language, literature, gender, politics and motherhood. Algün is fascinated by language and definitions and often returns to her own experiences as an immigrant. Through her art, she explores the fluidity of identity that arises in the borderland between two countries, two cultures and two languages. Her work has been shown internationally at the Istanbul Biennial, SALT in Istanbul, Moderna Museet in Stockholm, and many other institutions.
In Swedish.
